Addition Facts

When zero is added to a second number the answer is the second number.
(e.g. 0+4=4)

Adding one is just like counting up by one.
(e.g. 1+4=5)

Adding two is like counting up by two.
(e.g. 2+4=6)

Adding 10s (tens)

(e.g. 20+40=?)

Add the numbers in the tens' place column(2+4=6) and put a zero next to it get the complete value ( 20+40=60 ). This works for 70+40 also like this.

(7 + 4 = 11 so 70+40=110)

Adding 100 s (hundreds)
Add the numbers in the hundreds' place column (4 + 2 = 6) and place the answer below the line add two zeroes to the right.
